McCabe gone!

The honeymoon was long over. Finally, mercifully, Cliff Fletcher signed the divorce papers and Bryan McCabe is a Florida Panther. Had he not waived his no-trade clause, surely McCabe would have been subjected to the chagrin of Leafs Nation, a la Larry Murphy.

Better he head south. Just in time for the tail end of hurricane season.

McCabe never lived up to his billing, though he did provide some special moments. Is he worth $4.15M? Ah, no. Is he worth the $5.75M cap hit. Ah, no squared.

Sorry Bryan. Thanks for playing {buzzer sounds}. You’re outta here. And all it cost us was Alex Karpovtsev and 2 fourth-round draft picks. Not too shabby.
