Leafs rising from the dead

In any discussion of forgettable Octobers, this season is surely to come up. One regulation win, 6 of a possible 24 points – and the future looked grim. The Toskala experiment is failing miserably. Speaking of misery, what on earth could Coach Wilson be thinking? Maybe thathe has one of the most expensive backup goaltenders in the league, and not even a good one at that.

If I were Toskala, I’d be worried. Very worried. The Western Conference beckons.

Phil Kessel has made his debut and looks a little rough around the edges. Considering they’re expecting 35+ goals from this guy this year despite the stint in rehab, he has a lot of work to do. I liked the trade then. I like it now, still.  The Leafs are 2-0-1 with him in the lineup. A fragile stat, but a good one none-the-less. The Leafs have 3 games against Boston in December – looking forward to those.

The team is in an awful hole. Despite getting points in their last 7 games with 3 of them wins, that October funk is likely to bite them on the tail come April unless they can really turn things on.

GO LEAFS GO!!!
