Jason Blake to the rescue

The Leafs dominated the Islanders last night for the ifrst 2 periods, then gave up some man-short opportunities that put the Isles right back in it. All tied up at 2 a piece with 4 minutes remaining, looked like this one was gojng into overtime until jason Blake stepped up andĀ batted in a dirty goal after some extra effort digging out the puck behind the net. For a guy who’s stock has been stuck at due south since day 1 in a Leafs’ uniform, he sure has a way of finding the net when it counts. Not that his stock has gone up or down – I still think Burke will deal this guy sooner rather than later if he can find a place for him.

The Leafs areĀ 7 – 1 – 2 in their last 10 and go into Boston tonight looking for a shot at redemption. They’ll need Phil Kessel on his game for this one. I’m sure the Leafs get up for a game against Boston, the Bruins do too. The big bad Washington Capitals are in town Saturday night so that’ll be a good test for the goaltender, whoever that might be.

GO LEAFS GO!!!
