Blue Jackets fade

Rick Nash was nowhere to be found.

It looked like the Kids were going to implode tonight. The first 10 minutes were ok but they seemed to slow down in the passion department and the Jackets started taking it to them.

Lots of firsts tonight against Columbus: Michael Peca plunked his first biscuit behind a goalie as a Leaf – John Pohl scored his first goal. Ben Ondrus got on the board in his first game of the season. Peca looked really good tonight. Man, what a feisty guy in such a small frame. Playing in his 700th game to boot.

And Wellwood continues to stay neck-n-neck with Sundin for the Leafs points race.

So they needed this win to stay on top of the record of W-L-W-L-W-L-W-L, which doesn’t bode well for folks attending the ACC tomorrow night to host Brendan Shanahan, Jaromir Jagr and the Rangers. If the boys are going to come out with a strong game and string together a couple of wins tomorrow would be a good time to do that.
